Juz 7
Animals (Al-An 'aam)
165 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr) before The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise is due to Allah, who has created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light. Yet the unbelievers make (others) equal with their Lord. (1) He it is Who has created you out of clay, and then decreed a term (of life), and has also appointed another term, a term determined with Him. Yet you are in doubt! (2) And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth; He knows your secret (thoughts) and your open (words), and He knows what you earn. (3) And never an Ayah (sign) comes to them from the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, but that they have been turning away from it. (4) and thus they gave the lie to the Truth that has now come to them. Soon they will come upon some news concerning what they had mocked at. (5) Do they not consider how many a generation We have destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth as We have not established you, and We sent the clouds pouring rain on them in abundance, and We made the rivers to flow beneath them, then We destroyed them on account of their faults and raised up after them another generation. (6) And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not but obvious magic." (7) They have said, "Why has not an angel come to him (Muhammad)?" Had We sent an angel to them, the matter would have inevitably been out of their hands, and they would have been given no more time. (8) And had we appointed an angel as a Prophet, We would still have made him as a man and would keep them in the same doubt, as they are now in. (9) Mocked were (many) messengers before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. (10)
