Hizb 31
Juz 16
So they both set out; until when they had boarded the boat, the chosen bondman ruptured the boat; said Moosa, “Did you make a hole in the boat in order to drown its passengers? You have indeed done an evil thing.” (71) He replied: "Did I not tell thee that thou wilt never be able to have patience with me?" (72) Moses said: "Do not take me to task at my forgetfulness, and do not be hard on me." (73) So they went on until, when they met a boy, he slew him. (Musa) said: Have you slain an innocent person otherwise than for manslaughter? Certainly you have done an evil thing. (74) ۞ [Al-Khidh r] said, "Did I not tell you that with me you would never be able to have patience?" (75) He said: If I ask you about anything after this, keep me not in your company; indeed you shall have (then) found an excuse in my case. (76) Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" (77) He answered: "This is the parting between me and thee: now will I tell thee the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience. (78) As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force. (79) And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we apprehended that he might impose upon the twain exorbitance and infidelity. (80) So we desired that their Lord might give them in his place one better than him in purity and nearer to having compassion. (81) As for that wall, it belonged to two orphan boys of the city, and their treasure was buried under it. Their father was an upright man. So your Lord willed that on reaching the age of maturity they should dig out their treasure as a favour from their Lord. So, I did not do that of my own accord. This is the explanation of things you could not bear with patience." (82)
