T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaHa. (1) We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; (2) But as admonition for him who fears -- (3) A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, (4) The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (5) To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. (6) And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. (7) God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. (8) AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? (9) When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." (10) And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! (11) Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! (12) I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. (13) I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. (14) “The Last Day will surely come it was close that I hide it from all in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) (15) So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. (16) What is that in your right hand, Moses' (17) He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. (18) Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" (19) So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. (20) 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. (21) "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, (22) So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. (23) Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. (24)
