T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. (1) We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed (2) but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: (3) A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. (4) the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? (5) His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. (6) Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. (7) God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. (8) Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? (9) When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. (10) But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! (11) I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. (12) "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). (13) “Indeed it is Me, Allah there is no God except I therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” (14) Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). (15) Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. (16) "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" (17) He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. (18) He said: Cast it down, O Musa! (19) So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. (20) He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” (21) "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- (22) for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. (23) Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." (24)
