T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. (1) We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, (2) but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: (3) A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. (4) The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. (5) To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. (6) And if you (O Muhammad SAW) speak (the invocation) aloud, then verily, He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden. (7) God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! (8) (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? (9) When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." (10) When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, (11) Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. (12) "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). (13) I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. (14) The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. (15) “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” (16) And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" (17) He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. (18) "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). (19) So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. (20) God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. (21) And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. (22) That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, (23) Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). (24)
