The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. (1) Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. (2) Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” (3) Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." (4) They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." (5) Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? (6) And We sent not before thee but men unto whom We revealed; so ask the people of the admonition if ye know not. (7) Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. (8) Then We fulfilled to them the promise, and We saved them and those whom We willed, but We destroyed Al-Musrifun (i.e. extravagants in oppression, polytheism and in sin). (9) We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? (10)
