The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; (1) There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, (2) their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" (3) The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". (4) They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." (5) Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? (6) And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. (7) And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. (8) Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. (9) [O MEN!] We have now bestowed upon you from on high a divine writ containing all that you ought to bear in mind will you not, then, use your reason? (10)
