The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
77 verses, revealed in Mecca after Y S (Yaa Seen) before Initiator (Faater)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, -- (1) He to whom the dominion over the heavens and the earth belongs, and who begets no offspring, and has no partner in His dominion: for it is He who creates every thing and determines its nature in accordance with [His own] design. (2) And they have taken besides Him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. (3) The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it.' So they have committed wrong and falsehood. (4) And they say: The stories of the ancients-- he has got them written-- so these are read out to him morning and evening. (5) Say: "The (Qur'an) was sent down by Him who knows the mystery (that is) in the heavens and the earth: verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (6) Yet they say: What sort of apostle is this [man] who eats food [like all other mortals] and goes about in the market places? Why has not an angel [visibly] been sent down unto him, to act as a warner together with him?" (7) Or, wherefore is not there cast down unto him a treasure or he has a garden whereof he may eat! And the wrong-doers say: ye follow only a man bewitched. (8) Behold how they propound similitudes for thee! so they have strayed and cannot find a way. (9)
