The Poets (Alshu'araa')
227 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) These are the verses of the Clear Book. (2) Perhaps you will kill yourself with grief because they do not believe. (3) If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled. (4) Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it. (5) they have indeed rejected the message. But the truth of what they laughed to scorn will dawn upon them before long. (6) Do they not see the earth, how many of every noble kind We have caused to grow in it? (7) Surely in this there is a sign, yet most of them would not believe: (8) And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. (9)
