The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book (1) A guidance and glad tidings unto the believers. (2) Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. (3) As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem attractive to them so they stumble around in perplexity. (4) It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. (6) When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) O Moses, I am God, the Powerful, the Wise. (9) Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, (10) save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. (11) And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people. (12) So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment. (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (14)
