Hizb 39
Juz 20
And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying], "Worship Allah," and at once they were two parties conflicting. (45) He said: "O my people! Why do you seek to hasten the evil (torment) before the good (Allah's Mercy)? Why seek you not the Forgiveness of Allah, that you may receive mercy?" (46) They said, "We see you and your followers as an evil omen." He replied, "No, your evil omen is with God; the truth is that you are a people being put to the test." (47) There were nine tribes in the city spreading evil without any reform in the land. (48) they said, 'Swear you, one to another, by God, "We will attack him and his family by night, then we will tell his protector, We were not witnesses of the destruction of his family; and assuredly we are truthful men."' (49) They plotted and We planned without their knowledge. Consider the result of their plot. (50) Then see how was the end of their plot! Verily! We destroyed them and their nation, all together. (51) Those are their empty houses which We ruined because of their injustice. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for the people of knowledge. (52) And We delivered those who believed and who guarded (against evil). (53) And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing? (54) Would ye go in lustfully unto men instead of women? Aye! ye are a people addicted to ignorant ways. (55) ۞ But the answer of his folk was naught save that they said: Expel the household of Lot from your township, for they (forsooth) are folk who would keep clean! (56) So We delivered him and his family, except his wife: We ordained her to be one of those who stayed behind, (57) And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned.
