Hizb 39
Juz 20
And certainly We sent to Samood their brother Salih, saying: Serve Allah; and lo! they became two sects quarrelling with each other. (45) Salih said, "My people, why do you commit sins so quickly before doing good? Would that you ask forgiveness from God so that perhaps He will have mercy upon you." (46) They said, "We see you and your followers as an evil omen." He replied, "No, your evil omen is with God; the truth is that you are a people being put to the test." (47) There were nine tribes in the city spreading evil without any reform in the land. (48) They said: swear by God one to another that we shall surely fall upon him and his household by night and thereafter we shall surely say unto his heir; we witnessed not the destruction of his household, and verily we are truthtellers. (49) And they devised a device, and We likewise devised a device, while they were not aware; (50) Now see the end of their machinations: We destroyed them and their entire people. (51) Now such were their houses, - in utter ruin, - because they practised wrong-doing. Verily in this is a Sign for people of knowledge. (52) And we saved those who believed and used to ward off (evil). (53) And (remember) Lout (Lot)! When he said to his people. Do you commit Al-Fahishah (evil, great sin, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy, etc.) while you see (one another doing evil without any screen, etc.)?" (54) You lust after men in place of women. You are indeed a stolid people." (55) ۞ But this had only one answer from his people. They said: "Expel Lot's folk from your city. They pretend to be absolutely clean." (56) So We saved him and his family, except his wife. We destined her to be of those who remained behind. (57) And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned. (58)
