Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Alif Lam Mim (1) These are verses of the Book of Wisdom (2) Guidance and mercy for the righteous. (3) Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. (4) Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. (5) And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. (6) And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. (7) Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, (8) Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (9) He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. (10) [All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! (11)
