Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. (1) Those are the signs of the Wise Book (2) As guidance and mercy for the doers of good (3) for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: (4) Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. (5) And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. (6) When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. (7) But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, (8) Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. (9) He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. (10) This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. (11)
