Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. (1) THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, (2) for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers (3) who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. (4) Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. (5) But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. (6) And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. (7) Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. (8) where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. (9) He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. (10) This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! (11)
