Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). (2) Guidance and mercy for the righteous. (3) Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. (4) They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. (5) But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. (6) When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. (7) [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, (8) to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. (9) He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. (10) this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. (11)
