The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks (1) By the angels driving away. (2) and the reciters of a Remembrance, (3) Verily your God is One, (4) Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. (5) Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars (6) Protecting them against every wayward devil, (7) They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. (8) Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. (9) Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. (10) Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. (11) Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; (12) And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. (13) And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. (14) And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; (15) "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) (16) along with our forefathers?" (17) Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. (18) So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. (19) They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" (20) This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. (21)
