The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). (1) and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof (2) By the angels reciting the praise. (3) Verily your God is One. (4) the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. (5) We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; (6) Protecting them against every wayward devil, (7) they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, (8) and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. (9) Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. (10) So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. (11) Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; (12) And heed not when they are reminded, (13) And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. (14) and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. (15) When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, (16) “And also our forefathers?” (17) Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. (18) It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! (19) And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. (20) [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" (21)
