Juz 23
S (Saad)
88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. (1) Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. (2) How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. (3) It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". (4) Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." (5) And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” (6) We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. (7) What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. (8) Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? (9) Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! (10) But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. (11) Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, (12) And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. (13) Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. (14)
