The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
200 verses, revealed in Medina after The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal) before The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
AlifLaamMeem. (1) Allah none is worthy of worship, except Him, He is Alive (eternally, on His own) and the Upholder (keeps others established). (2) He has sent down upon thee the Book with the truth, confirming what was before it, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel (3) aforetime, as guidance to the people, and He sent down the Salvation. As for those who disbelieve in God's signs, for them awaits a terrible chastisement; God is All-mighty, Vengeful. (4) Verily, nothing on earth or in the heavens is hidden from God. (5) It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (6) He it is who hath sent down unto thee the Book, wherein some verses are firmly constructed - they are the mother of the Book, and others consimilar. But those in whose hearts is a deviation follow that which is consimilar therein, seeking discord and seeking to misinterpret the same; whereas none knoweth the interpretation thereof save Allah. And the firmly-grounded in knowledge say: we believe therein, the whole is from our Lord. And none receiveth admonition save men of understanding. (7) Our Lord! make not our hearts to deviate after Thou hast guided us aright, and grant us from Thee mercy; surely Thou art the most liberal Giver. (8) Our Lord! You surely will gather mankind together one Day, a Day about (the coming of which) there is no doubt. Surely Allah never goes against His promise.' (9)
