Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? (24) When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. (25) So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, (26) And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" (31) They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32) to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, (33) marked by your Lord for the sinful' (34) So We brought out from therein the believers. (35) But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. (36) and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". (39) So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) Which turned everything it touched to ashes. (42) And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. (43) But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. (44) So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- (45) And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. (46)
