Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? (24) When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." (25) Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, (26) and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" (27) He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. (28) Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! (29) They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." (30) ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" (31) They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, (32) To send down upon them stones of baked clay. (33) marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” (34) So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. (35) And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. (36) and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. (37) And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. (38) But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." (39) Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. (42) And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" (43) They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. (44) they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. (45) And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. (46)
