Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? (24) When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' (25) He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. (26) and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" (29) They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." (30) ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" (31) They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, (32) so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, (33) Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." (34) Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. (35) And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. (36) and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. (38) But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." (39) So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. (40) There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind (41) that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. (42) And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. (44) they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. (45) And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. (46)
