Hizb 53
Juz 27
Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. (25) Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, (26) and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! (29) "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." (30) ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' (31) They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people (32) so that we bring down stones of clay upon them (33) which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." (34) Then We evacuated there from all the believers (35) We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. (36) and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. (37) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' (39) So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. (45) And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. (46)
