The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, (1) your companion is neither astray, neither errs, (2) nor does he speak out of his own desire. (3) It is naught but revelation that is revealed, (4) He was taught by one Mighty in Power, (5) by the great mighty one (Gabriel), (6) appearing in the horizon's loftiest part, (7) Then he drew nigh and came down (8) So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him was with body and soul.) (9) then revealed to his servant that he revealed. (10) The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. (11) Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? (12) And indeed, he saw him a second time (13) to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) (14) Near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to. (15) When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. (16) His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. (17) For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! (18) Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: (19) and about the third deity, al-Manat? (20) What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female? (21) That indeed were an unfair division! (22) They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath sent down no authority. They follow but their fancy, and that which pleaseth their souls; whereas assuredly there hath come unto them from their Lord the guidance. (23) Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, (24) Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. (25)
