The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, (1) Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. (2) And he does not say anything by his own desire. (3) It is a revelations which has been revealed to him (4) He was taught by one Mighty in Power, (5) The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. (6) While he was in the highest part of the horizon: (7) then he drew near, and became close (8) So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him was with body and soul.) (9) Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. (10) The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. (11) Will you then argue with him about what he saw? (12) Indeed, he saw him in another descent (13) At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - (14) nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, (15) When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, (16) The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. (17) for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. (18) So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? (19) And Manat, the third - the other one? (20) Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? (21) That, then, is an unjust division. (22) They are naught but names yourselves have named, and your fathers; God has sent down no authority touching them. They follow only surmise, and what the souls desire; and yet guidance has come to them from their Lord. (23) Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! (24) All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. (25)
