The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the star when it plunges, (1) your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, (2) nor does he speak out of desire. (3) that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired (4) Taught to him by one intense in strength - (5) The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. (6) being on the higher horizon. (7) and then drew near, and came close, (8) So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him was with body and soul.) (9) And thus did [God] reveal unto His servant whatever He deemed right to reveal. (10) The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. (11) What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! (12) And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. (13) to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) (14) nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, (15) When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes (16) His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, (17) Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. (18) Have you considered Lat and 'Uzza, (19) and about the third deity, al-Manat? (20) Is the male for you and for Him the female? (21) That indeed is a division most unfair! (22) These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They are merely following their conjectures and their carnal desires although guidance has come to them from their Lord. (23) Or shall man have whatever he fancies? (24) To Allah belong both the Next World and the present. (25)
