Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. (1) Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; (2) who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? (3) Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. (4) And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. (5) For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. (6) When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, (7) as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" (8) They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" (9) And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” (10) They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). (11) As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. (12) Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. (13) Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. (14)
