Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? (3) Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Then do you see of them any remains? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, (14) Then on that Day shall happen the Event. (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' (20) His shall be a pleasing life (21) In an elevated garden, (22) The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. (25) and that we would never knew what our records contained. (26) “Alas, if only it had been just death.” (27) “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” (28) My authority is gone away from me. (29) Lay hold of him and chain him; (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. (34) so today he has no friend here, (35) Nor any food except refuse, (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
