Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Hour! (1) How tremendous is the true event! (2) And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. (5) and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Do you then see of them one remaining? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. (11) That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. (12) Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. (19) Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) in a lofty garden, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) Our wealth is of no benefit to us (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" (32) Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, (33) "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! (34) So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend (35) nor any food except foul pus (36) which only the sinners will eat.” (37)
