Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! (1) What is the Inevitable Calamity? (2) And what do you know what that indubitable event is? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Do you see any trace of them? (8) Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. (18) Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) in a lofty garden, (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) “Alas, if only it had been just death.” (27) My wealth has availed me nothing: (28) There hath perished from me my authority. (29) The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) Nor any food save filth (36) "Which none do eat but those in sin." (37)
