Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! (1) What is the sure calamity! (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. (4) Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Can you see any remnant of them now? (8) And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, (9) And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! (14) Then on that Day shall happen the Event. (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) His shall be a pleasing life (21) In a lofty Garden (22) the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). (23) (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) Nor known whatever was my reckoning! (26) “Alas, if only it had been just death.” (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) Today he has been left here friendless; (35) nor any food save the filth (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
