Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! (1) And what is that indubitable event? (2) And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), (5) And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. (11) making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. (12) When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. (18) So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; (21) in a lofty Garden, (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us (25) And not known my account! (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, (30) and then roast him in Hell, (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) they did not believe in the great God, (33) nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, (34) therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, (35) and no food except pus (36) that none excepting the sinners eat.'
