Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, (9) and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. (10) Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) (11) That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, (16) and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. (17) That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” (20) Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing (21) In a Garden on high, (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) “Alas, if only it had been just death.” (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) and then let him enter hell, (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) for he did not believe in Almighty God, (33) nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) so today he has no friend here, (35) and no food except pus (36) which none but the sinners eat!"
