(5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - (14) Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (16) And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. (18) Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) and had not known my account. (26) Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Then throw him in the blazing Fire. (31) Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: (32) Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) that none excepting the sinners eat.' (37)
