Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) What is the Sure Reality? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. (4) Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - (14) So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) Then he will be in blissful state (21) In a lofty Garden (22) The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. (23) (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) and not known my reckoning! (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) My authority is gone away from me. (29) (It will be said): Take him and fetter him (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” (33) and he never urged the feeding of the needy; (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, (36) which only the sinners will eat.” (37)
