Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? (3) THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! (4) As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Now dost thou see any remnant of them? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. (12) When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, (13) And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, (14) Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (15) and the heavens will be rent asunder, (16) and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. (19) I was certain I'll be given my account." (20) So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) Nor that I knew my reckoning! (26) Would it had been the end! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" (29) The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, (30) and then let him enter Hell. (31) Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: (32) Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) Therefore he has not here today a true friend, (35) Nor any food save filth (36) that none but sinners eat' (37)
