Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. (4) So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (7) So do you see any survivor among them? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. (12) So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. (17) That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing (21) in a lofty Garden (22) with clusters of fruit within easy reach. (23) Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". (24) Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. (25) And I had not known what my account was: (26) Would that death had taken us away for good. (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. (32) Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, (33) nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) Nor any food except refuse, (36) that none excepting the sinners eat.' (37)
