Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. (7) Then do you see of them any remains? (8) And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, (11) In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. (12) So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” (19) Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' (20) Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; (21) In a high garden (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) and not known my reckoning! (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) My wealth hath not availed me, (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) Lay hold of him and chain him; (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) for he did not believe in Almighty God, (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) On this day, they will have no friends (35) nor any food save the filth (36) "Which none do eat but those in sin." (37)
