Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! (1) What is the Inevitable? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. (4) Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. (5) And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. (6) that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. (7) Do you see any trace of them? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. (14) Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (15) And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. (18) Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. (19) "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" (20) Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing (21) In high empyrean (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (24) And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! (25) Nor that I knew my reckoning! (26) O would that it had made an end (of me): (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) Seize him and fetter him, (30) Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; (31) Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: (32) they did not believe in the great God, (33) nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. (34) so today he has no friend here, (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
