Juz 29
Noah (Noah)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people (and directed him): “Warn your people before a grievous chastisement comes upon them.” (1) He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: (2) "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, (3) That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. (4) He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). (5) And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. (6) And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: (7) "I preached to them aloud, in public. (8) Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. (9) "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; (10) He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, (11) and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. (12) What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity (13) ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ (14) See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, (15) and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. (16) And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, (17) And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. (18) God has spread out the earth (19) ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” (20)
