Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading (1) guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, (2) He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! (3) The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, (4) ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ (5) And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); (6) Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. (7) "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, (8) we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- (9) 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. (10) 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. (11) ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ (12) 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. (13) And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. (14) ‘And as for the unjust they are the fuel of hell.’” (15) [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, (16) So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. (17) Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. (18) Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. (19)
