Hizb 58
Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, (1) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. (4) 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. (5) Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion (6) 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). (7) And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. (8) we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- (9) And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: (10) And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. (11) And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. (13) And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; (14) but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" (15) [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, (16) In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." (17) The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- (18) And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). (19)
