Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, (1) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. (4) We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, (5) But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. (6) 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). (7) We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- (8) We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. (9) We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. (10) ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ (11) and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; (12) So when we heard the guidance we believed in it; and he who believes in his Lord will neither fear loss nor force. (13) And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. (14) And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: (15) [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, (16) as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. (17) And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. (18) "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." (19)
