Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: (1) which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; (2) for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! (3) "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, (4) And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. (7) (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. (8) 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. (9) We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. (10) Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. (11) We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. (12) ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ (13) 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." (14) but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." (15) (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. (16) and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. (17) The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. (18) Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. (19)
