The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) We have indeed shown him the way whether he is grateful or ingrate. (3) We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. (4) Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, (5) This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. (6) These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; (7) those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, (8) 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; (9) we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” (10) Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. (11) and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. (12) Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. (13) And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. (14) and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, (15) goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. (16) And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- (17) from a flowing spring called Salsabil. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20) Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." (22)
