The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. (1) We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. (2) Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. (4) Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. (5) which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. (6) They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. (7) who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; (9) for we fear from our Lord a stern, frownful Day' (10) So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, (11) And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. (12) Reclining in it, upon thrones; they will not see the hot sunshine in it, nor the bitter cold. (13) And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. (14) and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, (15) Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. (16) And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger, etc.), (17) From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. (18) ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. (21) (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. (22)
