The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? (1) We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. (2) We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire. (4) As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- (5) a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; (6) (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, (7) who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) [saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: (9) Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. (10) Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. (11) and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. (12) Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. (13) The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. (14) Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water (17) [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) And when you look towards it, you will see serenity and a great kingdom. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) It will be said to them, “This is your reward indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” (22)
