The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) By the lone stars floating, (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And who plan the implementation. (5) The day on which the quaking one shall quake, (6) Followed by the second blast, (7) On that day hearts beat painfully (8) While eyes are downcast (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” (12) However, it will only take a single blast (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. (17) and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" (24) Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
