The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (1) By the angels who release with gentle release. (2) by those that swim serenely (3) by those that outstrip them suddenly, (4) Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) even after we are fragmented bones' (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) But it shall be only a single scare, (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (21) Then turned he away in haste, (22) and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
