The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently (1) By the angels who release with gentle release. (2) And who glide with ease. (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) And who plan the implementation. (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) Hearts on that day shall palpitate, (8) Eyes be lowered in submission. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, (13) and lo, they will all be in the open plain. (14) Has there reached you the story of Moses? - (15) Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, (18) I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, (23) Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (24) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. (25) In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. (26)
