The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, (1) by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, (2) And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively (6) Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, (10) even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. (14) (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) And he showed him the tremendous token. (20) but he cried lies, and rebelled, (21) Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' (24) So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
