The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) Many a heart will flutter on that day! (8) Their looks will be downcast. (9) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state (10) After having turned to carious bones?" (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (15) When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, (16) "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: (17) And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. (20) But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] (21) and hastily turned away, (22) And he gathered [his people] and called out (23) And said, "I am your most exalted lord." (24) Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. (25) Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! (26)
