The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) By the angels who glide swimmingly, (3) And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) Even after we are crumbled bones? (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) But it will be only a single blow, (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) Then he turned away, deliberating, (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) “I am the supreme lord of you all.” (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
